XSharp Bandol 2.2 Public Installer

We have just released the public installer for XSharp Bandol 2.20 (our Christmas gift for 2019)
The complete readme with the description of the changes can be found here.
This is the same build as the subscribers build, with the exception that subscribers get a slightly faster compiler, a .Net core version of the compiler  and debug versions of the runtime assemblies to aid in tracking errors (not that we have any <g>).

  • I noticed this installer detects the CB Defense anti-virus as being required to close to install. This AV is managed by my corporate IT department and cannot be closed, so I chose to "Ignore" and it seems to have installed OK.

    CB Defense did, however, think that the XIDE installer is "known malware" and blocked it.

    The XIDE installer is a normal non encrypted .Net program. The files that it installs are included in the installer as managed resources.
    Maybe it does not like the fact that the installer is writing exe files and dll files ?

    TO resolve this you will have to ask the supplier to check this. Tell them that this is a false positive and send them the xide installer exe file.

  • Yeah, the message says mentions "APC", so it looks like it thinks XIDE is another program (a malware). No idea why, but that's a false positive.
